IVR systems interactive voice response

IVR Interactive Voice Response

This section of our technical library presents information and documentation relating to IVR and Interactive Voice Response software and IVR development products. Business phone systems and toll free answering systems (generally 800 numbers and their equivalent) are very popular for service and sales organizations, allowing customers and prospects to call your organization anywhere in the country. Our PACER and Wizard IVR systems add another dimension to our call center phone system solutions. An Interactive Voice Response (IVR) processes inbound phone calls, plays recorded messages including information extracted from databases and the internet, and potentially routes calls to either in-house service agents or transfers the caller to an outside extension.

Using IVR Report Server Client API

Components

The IVR Report API set is a set of library routines that provides the programmer with complete access to the IVR log for creating and managing online IVR reports. The following are the basic program components of this system and library.

DscIRS – IVR Report Server

This server must be installed and running on the same system as the Pacer Dialer (PDialerPlus), as it references PDialerPlus registry entries for information on the location of IVR log files.

IrsClApi32 / irsclapi

This is the main client interface to the IVR Report server. The main body of this document addresses the use of this library.

irsapid

This service must be installed on any server(s) that are generating IVR program log files. Users of the IrsClApi32 DLL (or irsclapi library) will identify the location of these through the use of a “script id”, which will be cross-checked with the Pacer registry to find the host location. For NT, use “irsapisvc –i” to install.

iasapid

This service must be installed on the server that contains the master IVR Accounts files. DscIRS will have the host name of the Accounts file server in its configuration for proper execution. For NT, use “iasapisvc –i” to install.

dscnmq

This service must be installed on the client machine using IrsClApi32 / irsclapi. For NT, use “dscnmqsvc –i” to install.
